In the last 6 years I have gained a 4 year degree in Information Technology, multiple certs CompTIA trifecta, ITIL, Linux and Cloud essentials, Project+, and CCENT (expired and retired). Is there a word or pdf document template or check list on how to create a Cyber-Disaster Security Plan for a small bushiness that is not under any compliance like cc, or Hipaa, or financialWhat do you all use to draft one of these ?Ħ years ago I changed careers and began working in IT.

I figured my 1910 might get a few $$ to help partially offset the cost difference plus I wouldn't have as many devices piled on the shelf.Īnyone with experience using both companies devices have any input? I've worked with Ubiquiti plenty and its easy to setup and configure, but have limited hands on experience with Mikrotik but hear good things overall. My other thought was to replace basically my entire network with a Mikrotik RB2011 (10 port) with 1 PoE for the AP which would replace my Cisco Router, my HP switch and one AP, then get one of the standard RBcAP units for the back. If I went with Ubiquiti I would just throw in two UAP-UAC-LITE and run the cabling in the walls while we're remodeling one in the hallway towards the front of the house and one at the back of the hall for the Master bedroom.

Since I'm not willing to pay for Meraki licensing in my home I'm looking at either Ubiquiti APs or a new Mikrotik setup. We also let our neighbor borrow our guest network while shes on the hunt for a new job. So we currently use 8 ports on the switch.

My spouse has a home office for graphic design and photography so there are multiple computers, a NAS for the major file storage, 3 printing including a large format printer all on the network, multiple laptops, multiple desktops, multiple wifi enabled smart Tvs for streaming Amazon and Netflix. To provide a bit of info on my setup we have a fairly busy home network for just two people. Its a little light in the Master bedroom at about 2 bars and we can get 1-2 bars in the backyard. I also have an HP 1910 16 Port switch attached to a Cisco RV042 router. I currently have a Meraki AP thats the licensing is expiring in January.
